Windows for Listed Buildings

Windows & Doors

Listed buildings are very special and need a different approach to replacing windows in a normal property. Trade Timber windows are the market leader when it comes to windows for listed buildings.

There seems to be no consistent specific policy and the rules vary from council to council. Some authorities allow slim double glazed units 4/4/4 mm in section. These units do have a better thermal value than standard single glazed and look like the original. Some councils insist on only single glazed being used for listed building applications.

Often Timber window manufacturers find it impossible to make single glazed windows due to the way their wood working machinery has been set only to make timber profiles that will suit double glazed windows & doors.

Here at Trade Timber Windows we are able to offer a full range of options to suit the requirements of listed building control. Both single and slim double glazed options are available.
